Beginning in 2009, CCSI is implementing the use of Microfiber on all our cleaning materials, towels, mops, etc. This will be one of many steps we take in our Green Cleaning Initiative this year. Microfiber, an ultra-fine fiber split 16 times, provides superior cleaning capabilities and is especially recommended for medical and food service facilities. Not only does the Microfiber trap and hold dirt more effectively than conventional cleaning products, but studies in both the U.S. and Canada have shown that the use of Microfiber cleaning materials results in 95% reduction in the amount of cleaning chemicals used, a 20% improvement in labor productivity, removal of 99.4% of all bacteria with water alone, and the elimination of cross-contamination.
